Debora Gerbaudo
PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at National University of San Martin (UNSAM-IDAES), Argentina
Debora Gerbaudo has a BA in Social Anthropology from the Buenos Aires National University (UBA) and a MA in Social Sciences from the National University of General Sarmiento (UNGS-IDES) where she studied migrant youth and their transnational political practices in the global South. As a fellow from the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), she is currently doing a PhD in Social Anthropology at National University of San Martin (UNSAM-IDAES) where she analyzes the intersections between migrations, youth and urban space among Paraguayans living in metropolitan and intermediate Argentine cities. She carries out ethnographic work with transnational communities living in areas of urban segregation and environmental degradation within the Participatory Action Research “Migrantas en Reconquista Project” (UNSAM-IDRC). She performs research at the Nucleus of Migration Studies and at the Center for Socio-territorial Studies, Identities and Environment. She is also an Assistant Professor of the Diploma in “Advanced Studies in Gender, Culture and Power” at the Nucleus of Gender and Feminism Studies.
