Stephanie Seungmin Kim, PhD, is an art curator, gallerist, writer and speaker. She is the founder of the Stephanie Kim Gallery NY,  Iskai Contemporary Art, a curatorial research centre London, and Sleepers Summit Korea.
Stephanie directed over 80 international exhibitions with more than 600 artists in over 20 cities. They include Liverpool Biennial City States in 2010 and 2012 (Media Landscape Far East & Terra Galaxia), A Soldier’s Tale commemorating 130 year of UK Korea diplomatic relations (London Asia House 2013), Crystallize (London Old Billingsgate 2013), Sleepers in Venice (Venice 2015).
She often collaborates with international bodies including UNESCO (Paris 2014), Singapore Open Media Festival (Singapore2015),  Jikji Korea (Cheongju 2016), United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP 13 exhibition (Ordos 2017), Seoul Biennale of Architecture & Urbanism (Seoul, 2017), and museums (Myungwon Museum, SOMA Museum. Stephanie recently directed the inaugural exhibition for the International Center for Documentary Heritage of UNESCO.

She has a monthly column Kimseungmin Curator’s Art Money Market for Hankook Ilbo (Korea Times) and has appeared in many media outlets including BBC, KBS, Guardian and EnVi Media, among others.

Stephanie was the founding Curator of the Korean Cultural Centre UK, Embassy of the Republic of Korea from 2007 to 2011. She earned her PhD from the Royal College of Art (RCA), and has Master’s degree from University College London (UCL) and Honors BA from Sotheby’s Institute. Stephanie produced two documentaries including Sleepers in Venice and Fragments.
