Luciana Denardi holds a PhD on Social Anthropology from the National University of San Martín, Argentina. She is a young researcher at de National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET)– Argentina and member of the Program for the Strengthening of Research and Cooperation with China/Asia in Social Sciences and Humanities, also at CONICET.

She has been doing ethnographic research since 2012 with the Chinese diaspora in Buenos Aires city, specifically on migrant´s identification process, ritual, commercial practices, and associations. She also analyzed gender, racism and educational issues of Chinese migrants in Argentina. Her main interest are the Anthropology of the State and the transnational studies, the diasporization process and the extraterritorial practices of the Nation-state. The aim of her current project is to describe and analyze the role of Chinese diasporas in the diffusion and implementation of extraterritorial policies of the Chinese government in Argentina. It understands overseas Chinese as fundamental pieces and key actors in the bilateral relations between China and Argentina. She regularly publishes articles and book chapters in USA, Europe, Latin America, China and Korea.
