Institute for Social Geography and Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS), Osnabrück University, Germany
I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Geography and Member of the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) at Osnabrück University.
I have been working on the mutual effects of Western discourse on Muslims and Islam as practices of recognition and resistance. Right now I am preparing a project-proposal to examine the relation of fashion and diversity with a focus on Muslim appeal in social media and mainstream fashion magazines.
I am teaching ethnographic methods from different thematically and disciplinary angles and am especially interested in positioning postmodern thought in recent debates on intersectionality and cultural heritage.
